I am a proud Texan and retired paralegal with a marvelous husband.  Our together hobby is sailing and we are blessed to be able to travel around the world.  I started quilting in 1996 and have loved every minute of it.  Two years ago, I learned to smock and make heirloom dresses for my granddaughter.  Since then, another granddaughter has come along so I do “doubles” of everything now.  I dabble in other needlework such as rug hooking, cross stitch and embroidery.  My 90 pound rescue chocolate labrador retriever is my sewing buddy and sidekick.  If only I could teach him to use a rotary cutter or thread my needles, I would be set.

  1. Hi momma!! I liked your most recent post and all of your chests! When are you doing the Sauerkraut edition? : ) Your blog looks really nice!! Love you!

  2. Hi Charsley—–I am making the quilt that Sue Garman made using the same quilt you did as an inspiration. I am using Inklingo rather than the way her patterns instructions are written. I just had an heart stopping moment when I realized that the 1/2 blocks are wrong. I clicked to your blog to see how you handled them and saw you had discovered the same problem at the same point in construction. Thanks for the photos on your blog. I now have to print a few more background pieces and do a bit of ripping. Your quilt is gorgeous.
